Some children can access the foam through a small opening in the headrest cover set and can pick off pieces of the headrest foam. The foam pieces are small, generally spherical with no sharp edges, and non-toxic. These small foam pieces could be a choking hazard, so CYBEX initiated this voluntary recall. The seats meet all requirements for crashworthiness under the Federal safety standard FMVSS 213 and can continue to be used to transport your child safely, before and after you implement the product improvement kit.

CYBEX is providing consumers who own affected seats a free product improvement kit that includes manufacturer-approved adhesive tape to apply to the headrest foam and instructions for application. Registered owners will be sent the kits. To register for a free product improvement kit, please click here to provide us with the necessary information. If you have questions about the recall or product improvement kit, please contact CYBEX Customer Service at 1-877-242-5676. Please do not return your child’s U.S. Sirona M to retailers.

We place great importance on your trust in us, and we apologize for any inconvenience or concern this matter has caused for you and your family.

CYBEX is conducting this voluntary recall in coordination with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22C-001.
