General

Where can I get replacement parts for my product?

You can order replacement parts from our customer service team at ParentLink. Please contact them at info.us@cybex-online.com or by calling 1-877-242-5676.

Can I use this seat on a flight?

No, this car seat is not approved for use on an airplane due to needing to secure the child with both a shoulder and lap belt system that an airline seat will not have.

Is it normal that the car seat’s backrest moves, and there is space between vehicle seat and car seat?

Yes, the backrest is adjustable. Therefore it can adapt perfectly to any vehicle seat. In the event of an accident, the backrest moves slightly forward with your child, and is therefore able to secure the whole body early on.

Installation and Securing your child

Where can I check to make sure my car seat is installed properly?

CYBEX recommends getting your car seat installation checked by a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. At CYBEX we have certified car seat technicians available to assist you though our customer service team at ParentLink at 1-877-242-5646 or info.us@CYBEX-online.com. We also have virtual appointments available at https://CYBEX.appointlet.com/.

How do I know if I have LATCH available in my vehicle to install the car seat?

Most U.S. vehicles manufactured on or after September 1, 2002, are equipped with LATCH. Refer to your vehicle owner’s manual under the Child Restraints section to confirm and see where your latch connections are.

What is the difference between Rigid Latch vs Flexible Latch?

Flexible lower anchor connectors are connected to each other with flexible webbing. Rigid lower anchor connectors are rigidly attached to the car seat shell or car seat base and there is no flexible webbing. Rigid lower anchor connectors are spaced exactly 11 inches apart to correspond with the standard spacing of lower anchors in the vehicle. CYBEX allows flexible lower anchors to be used with spacing between 11 - 20" apart and given the vehicle manufacturer allows this use.

Can I use my CYBEX booster without the backrest?

Never use the booster base without the backrest attached.

Is it possible to use a car seat with Rigid Latch in a vehicle without lower anchorage points?

While this CYBEX car seat is equipped with a Rigid LATCH lower anchors, it can also be installed in vehicles without lower anchorage points by turning the LATCH connection locking arms 180° inwards and sliding them into the booster seat. Both the child and the car seat can then be secured using only the 3-point vehicle belt.

Safe Travel

What kind of clothing should my child wear when seated in the car seat?

Thick clothing prevents the harness from lying snugly against the body. This incorrect harness use results in a loose or slack harness which in turn reduces the performance of the child restraint in crashes. Also, in everyday use, the loose harness could result in the harness slipping off the child's shoulders. For this reason, your child should wear everyday clothing. Thick clothing, such as puffy jackets, should not be worn in the car seat. In cold weather, after your child has been harnessed in the car seat, their jacket or a blanket can be placed over the child for extra warmth.

Usage

Can the car seat be used in a seating position that has a side airbag?

Yes, the car seat can be used in the seating position adjacent to a side airbag unless otherwise indicated in the vehicle owner's manual.

When does my CYBEX booster seat expire?

You can find the date of manufacture and expiration date on a sticker located on the bottom of your CYBEX booster seat. Every car seat has an expiration due largely to allow you the benefit of regulatory changes and technology enhancements in child passenger safety. CYBEX boosters have been certified for 8 years from the date of manufacture. Once your booster seat has reached its expiration date, we recommend recycling the seat by contacting your local community recycling center.

Is it ok to keep using my CYBEX car seat after an accident?

We at CYBEX always ADVISE that you MUST replace a child restraint after a crash of any kind, even if it was unoccupied.  A crash can cause unseen damage to the child restraint that may not be visible, and this damage can pose an increased risk to safety.  Your insurance company may be able to provide some assistance in replacing the child restraint.  For more info, please reach out to our Customer Service team at info.us@cybex-online.com or by calling 1-877-242-5676.

When is a child too big for my CYBEX Booster Seat?

This Cybex booster seat is designed for children 4 years and older AND that weigh between 40-120 lbs. AND whose height is 38-60" tall. The belt guide should be positioned at or just above the child's shoulders so that the vehicle shoulder belt lies across the middle of the shoulder and the lap belt is positioned low and snug at the child's hips. In addition, you will want to ensure that the top of the child's ears are below the top of the booster seat.

When can I place my child in a booster seat?

There are a number of things to consider when deciding whether to a child is ready to use a booster seat, including: the weight and height rating on their current harnessed child seat, the child's own weight and height, their maturity, and the seating positions available in your vehicle.   You will want to make sure your child is mature enough to sit in a booster seat and not put the vehicle belt under their arm or behind their back.  You will also want to ensure that they have met or are approaching the weight or height limit of the child restraint they are currently using.  When a child is properly restrained in a booster seat, their risk of injury in all types of crashes is reduced.

Functionality

Does this seat have a cupholder?

No, the cupholder is not included but can be purchased as an accessory on our website or possibly at the retailer where you made your purchase.

How does the recline position work?

The recline position is easily adjustable with only one hand, allowing for a more comfortable position for the child. The recline position can only be adjusted when the child is not sitting in the car seat, therefore please adjust the position before or after starting your journey. The relevant rigid LATCH adjustment handle is conveniently located on the front side of the seat and to change the recline position, please pull the handle and push or pull the car seat into the desired position.

How does the folding feature work?

The Solution G2 folds to make it a much more manageable, carry-friendly size, perfect when switching between cars or for storage for example. To unfold it, pull the adjustment handle and open the backrest until you hear an audible click, and it’s now ready to be installed in the car. To fold, you need to remove the cup holder if you have one attached. Now you need to pull the adjustment handle at the front of the booster and fold the backrest over until you hear an audible click. You can now use the helpful carrying handle located on the back of the car seat to carry it.

How do I remove the car seat fabrics?

Your car seats cover consist of 4 individual parts which have been cleverly designed to allow them to be easily removed separately for washing or if they need replacing. Open the velcro fastener which you will find behind the reclining headrest to remove by pulling it upwards from the reclining headrest flap. To remove the main headrest cover, reach below the headrest wings and unhook the loop fasteners and pull off the cover. Removing the fabric that covers the backrest is much easier if you fold the car seat and then release the fabric at the 6 corner point edges (4 on the backrest & 2 on the booster). If you then unfold the car seat again, the backrest cover should pull off easily. You can then release the two elasticated fasteners underneath the booster, remove the fabric around the armrest and the booster cover should pull off easily. To reattach the covers, do the above in reverse order. You can find washing instructions in your product’s User Guide or on the sewn-on wash care instructions.
