IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

  Transport Canada Campaign Number:

  2023-105

Dear Valued CYBEX Consumer:

This is to inform you that your restraint system or booster seat may be non-compliant with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety Regulations and that the non-compliance could affect the safety of a person. CYBEX and Columbus Trading-Partners Canada, Inc., the Canadian distributor for CYBEX (collectively “CYBEX”) have decided, as of March 14, 2023, that certain Aton 2 infant car seats fail to conform to Section 310(b) of CMVSS 213.1. Please refer to the table below for specific model details.

Issue:

The 25-mm-wide webbing strap used in the central front adjuster to snugly adjust the shoulder harness straps onto the child does not meet the retained strength requirements after hex bar abrasion as specified in Section 310 (b) of CMVSS 213.1. If the adjuster webbing becomes frayed or worn, which can reduce the strength of the webbing, the webbing could fail to properly restrain the occupant in the event of a vehicle crash, increasing the occupant's risk of injury.

Affected Models:

Aton 2

519003603
519003605
519003607
519003609

Date of Manufacture:

Applies only to infant car seats manufactured between March 8, 2019, and November 1, 2020.

The model number and date of manufacture are printed on a label on the bottom of the seat (as shown below):
