General

How do I make sure the weight distribution is best for the caregiver?

Your baby’s head should be close enough to kiss without needing to stoop, with their hips in the hip-friendly M position and their spine in the C position. Specially designed padding helps redistribute the weight away from your neck, shoulders and back. Once you have decided which direction you want your shoulder straps to be (crossbody or parallel), you can customize them using the various support buckles to suit the body shape of the caregiver. A well-padded waistbelt supports your lower back and provides optimal lumbar support.

What are the possible carry positions and when should I use them?

Build that special connection with your baby using the front inward carry position from birth until 3 years. Designed to give maximum support to their neck, this position keeps your baby closest of all. Once they are around 6 months old and can hold their head upright, the front outward carry position is perfect for around 20 minutes at a time to let them see the world face on. The back inward carry position has been the go-to position for centuries and can be used from 6 months to give your child a view over your shoulder. No matter which position you choose with the Coya carrier, your baby’s hips are kept in a hip-healthy M shape and the back panel’s fabric stretches to support the spine, mimicking its natural curved C position.

How does the COŸA Carrier Bouclé ergonomically support my baby?

Your COŸA Carrier Bouclé’s back panel stretches to support your baby’s spine by imitating its natural, curved C-shape. It keeps your baby in a hip-healthy M position, keeping their knees up above their bottom and level with their hips. When using the front outward carry position, your baby’s knees should be at a 90° to ensure they are in the optimum ergonomic position.

Is the COŸA Carrier Bouclé designed for all body types?

Your comfort is paramount and the COŸA Carrier Bouclé has been designed to ensure this. Having your baby in the correct position to provide the best weight distribution is the first step. The shoulder straps can be connected to either the front panel or the waist belt and you should try both to find the one which suits you best.  The waistbelt and the shoulder straps can be tightened or loosened from the front or back as you walk to give more support when you need it.

How safe are the materials used in my COŸA Carrier Bouclé?

The safety of your children is at the front of everything we do and all materials used in CYBEX products undergo stringent testing and all meet the highest standards. The inner lining of the COŸA Carrier Bouclé is 100% combed cotton, the perfect material to keep your baby snug and as comfortable possible.

My COŸA Carrier Bouclé buckles are slightly scuffed, will it affect their performance?

Thanks to their clever design and high-quality materials, your original buckles will last for countless adventures with your COŸA Carrier Bouclé. As you’ll be using our carrier so often some signs of use may occur on the buckles due to repeated use, each one a lasting memory of a journey with your little one. However, they are not visible when the buckles are closed and will not affect the functionality of your carrier in any way.

When can I start putting the baby in the COŸA Carrier Bouclé?

Once your baby grows to 50 cm and weighs 3.2 kg, you can begin your adventures with the COŸA Carrier Bouclé. If you can see half their ear, then they are at the right height but ensure they are in the hip-healthy M position with their spine supported in the curved C position before you begin by positioning your child’s bottom correctly in the carrier.

Usage

When and for how long can I carry my baby in the front outward carry position?

Once your baby can hold their head up independently and become more curious of their surroundings, usually between 4 and 6 months old, they can be carried in the front outward carry position. Please remember that they should only stay in this position for around 20 minutes.

How does the sternum strap benefit me?

The sternum strap is used to improve the integrity of the structure and helps to distribute the weight away from your shoulders when the shoulder straps are parallel.

What is the advantage of the leg loops?

By reducing the circumference of the leg openings, the leg loops provide support for smaller babies. Once they are too tight for your baby, you should then stop using them.

Why is it important to secure the waistbelt buckle with the elastic loop?

If the buckle buttons were accidentally pressed, this elastic loop ensures the waistbelt stays secure and keeps your child safe.

Can I breastfeed with my baby in the COŸA Carrier Bouclé?

Yes, it is possible and recommended. Once seated, loosen the shoulder straps to allow the baby access. You can also use the head cover to shelter your baby from the world as they feed. Please remember to position your baby correctly again afterwards.

Functionality

Why do I never have to adapt the back panel’s width?

Intuitive elasticated fabric contracts and stretches automatically to give your baby a snug fit from birth until they are 3 years old.

Once I have adjusted the COŸA Carrier Bouclé straps, how can I store the loose ends?

One of the best features of the COŸA Carrier Bouclé is your ability to customize it to suit everyone, no matter their bulk. Once you have adjusted the shoulder and sternum straps plus the waist belt, you can safely secure the leftover strap using the elastic band helpfully placed at the end of each strap.

How can I use the neck support?

Your COŸA Carrier Bouclé has been specifically designed to support your child’s neck throughout their journey. The upper flap on the front of the carrier can be folded inwards or outwards to make a helpful neck brace, supporting your newborn’s head and neck. The same flap can be gradually moved upwards as they grow by fixing it at the sides to keep it in place.

When can I use the head cover?

Keep the world at bay and your baby safely shielded with this integrated head cover, the perfect protection against the surroundings to keep them relaxed. Easily accessible when needed, it is handily stored away in the zip pocket on the waist belt of the COŸA Carrier BouclĂ©. The head cover connects using press studs and side loops that attach to hooks on the carrier. The hooks are on a rail which let you easily adjust the height of the head cover to suit your baby’s needs. Â
